FireFly® model FF-371 is a premium microprocessor-controlled three-channel lightning simulator which offers two channels of lightning, plus a third dedicated dimmer channel. Two channels can be used for lightning effects plus one channel can be connected to house lights, porch lights or even a lamp in the window for dimming effects. When there is a close “lightning strike”, not only do you see the lightning flash, but lights connected to the third channel will dim and flicker as though power is about to go out. New on the FF-371 is a jack for pulse width modulation (PWM) control of low-voltage lights. With PWM lights, you won’t need to run 120-volt extensions to your lights. Low-voltage lighting will make a safer haunt experience.
A maximum of 3,000 watts of lights can be connected to the FF-371.
Not only will the test routine confirm proper operation of the FF-371, it will also test compatibility of connected lights in two ways. First each light will individually ramp from off to full brightness to confirm that they dim appropriately. Next, each light will be rapidly pulsed to confirm they have adequate response time for lightning simulation.
No more special cables or adapters required when doing special effects with the FF-361. You can easily choose the audio source for each channel independently. Even if you choose monaural audio for your lightning simulation, the FF-361 will still pass stereo audio through to your speakers.
The internal audio tracks use lossless (uncompressed) 16-bit audio sampled at 44.1KHz for true CD quality, resulting in far better audio than MP3 or other compressed files.
To protect the user as well as connected equipment, the FF-351 utilizes an isolated switch mode power supply as well as solid state optical isolation to separate high voltage circuits from audio and control circuits.
FireFly® was designed to support a wide variety of lights. For best results, we recommend our ProLight™ 400 high-power LED light, which we designed specifically for lightning simulation. The intense white light and quick reaction time of these lights is unsurpassed in simulating lighting. FireFly® also supports some dimmable LEDs, conventional incandescent, and Halogen bulbs. And with the new PWM channel, you can use compatible low-voltage lights a s well!
In order to insure that lights fire quickly and offer the appropriate dynamic range, adjustable threshold controls are accessible via the Menu button for easy end-user optimization.
At any time, FireFly® controls can be restored to factory default via the Menu control.
The FF-361 uses digital phase cut dimming so that the intensity of the light directly corresponds with the amplitude (volume) of the thunder.
