Used for on/off air control such as a simple device to blow air.
2 ports - Air in from compressor (usually marked "P"), Air out to device (usually marked "A").
Hook up supply air to inlet, when power is applied solenoid opens and air release out of outlet. When power is removed solenoid does not release back pressure.
3-Way Solenoid Valves
Used to operate single acting cylinders or as a simple device to blow air.
3 ports - Air in from compressor (usually marked "P"), Air out to device (usually marked "A"), Exhaust out (usually marked "EA").
Hook up supply air to inlet, when power is applied solenoid opens and air release out of outlet. When power is removed solenoid release cylinder pressure out of exhaust port.
4-Way Solenoid Valves
Required to operate double acting cylinders.
Usually contain 4 or 5 ports - Air in from compressor (usually marked "P"), Air out "A" (to one side of cylinder), Air out "B" (to other side of cylinder), Exhaust out "EA", Exhaust out "EB" (only on 5-ported valves).
If your valve only has one exhaust then it is a 4-ported valve and the exhaust is shared by "A" and "B"
Hook up supply air to inlet, when power is applied solenoid opens and air releases out of outlet "A", when power is removed air releases out of outlet "B". Exhaust releases air from outlet that is not open.
Power Requirements
We offer solenoids with both AC and DC options. The AC versions plug into a standard wall outlet by attaching a plug.
The DC versions require a power supply to operate. Some are 12v DC and some are 24v DC. The 24v DC
versions require less amperage to operate than 12v DC.
